5 stars: This book is a keeper. It is worth reading over and over again and deserves a place on your bookshelf. You might want an e-copy to carry it around in your portable library, but this is a book that you'll want a hardcopy of, so you can flip through the pages and enjoy those numerous WOW moments because the book's that amazing.
4 stars: I really, really enjoyed this book. While the book may not have jumped out at me so much that it automatically zips to the top of my "most enjoyed ever" list, there was something about the book that stood out from the rest. There are WOW moments, but not as many as a 5-star book. This book will be recommended.
3 stars: This is a bit iffy. Either I liked a book but don't plan on re-reading it or I thought the book was okay. This category is for books I like to call "fun reads" or "afternoon reads." If you're bored and need something to do, you might check out this library book or borrow it from a friend. Often I give books the benefit of the doubt when I didn't really like a book but found some likable traits to balance out the parts I didn't like.
2 stars: I didn't like this book. There were some things I liked about it, but the majority didn't appeal to me. If I made it through to the end of the book, it was only because I had to find out what happened. This book is not recommended.
1 star: I really didn't like this book. I might find something to praise about it, but it is only because I tried. If I give a book this rating, I was in tears finishing the book (if I did). I probably skimmed through it, to be honest. This book is not recommended.
