About

Kris
site founder, administrator, and blogger
posts Sundays through Fridays

Hi, I'm Kris. I founded Imaginary Reads in April 2011, putting me in my ninth month of book blogging, when I realized that I wasn't book talking as often as I liked and that I wanted to spread the book love to a wider audience than my group of friend at school. I can ramble on forever about books. I spend so much of my time with books, they're like a part of me. My dream is to work full-time in the YA book publishing business while writing on the side.

I love books and teddies

before the books took over
I love to cozy up with a good book. Laugh, cry, and sigh over it, and then sit for a while as I relive the story all over again. I’m the kind of person who thinks a lot, mulls over her thoughts, and rarely shares unless asked about them. But when you get me going, you’ll get me going going. I'm a book nerd through and through.

I enjoy going out and communing with Nature while walking on the trails. I also love to blog, take (very amateur) photos, dance, and read and write and read and write. I spend too much time online and on word, where I'll be typing up another chapter of one of my WIPs, a book review, or an interview.

I love to read a wide variety of YA books, but I especially love fantasy books and historical fiction. Contemporary and dystopian are also big with me. Email review and event requests to me here.

Social media wise, you'll find me updating the Imaginary Reads Facebook page and twitter. I also have my own twitter and Goodreads.

I participate in the Random Act of Kindness event at Book Soulmates. If you'd like to do a Random Act of Kindness and help me with books, here's my wish list:

Hikari
Blogger, posts on Saturdays

Hey, I'm Hikari. I've loved reading ever since I was little, but I've never known where to find book recommendations until I discovered the book blogosphere. Since then, Kris has asked me to join her blog and I've joined the magical world of book blogging. Someday, I hope I'll publish my own YA novel and have all those wonderful book bloggers I've met talk about my book.

Other than books, I don't have much of a life--just kidding. I love photography, art, and I'll probably love any kind of hi-tech electronic you throw at me. I'm a bit (okay, maybe a lot) of a geek, but hey, we've all got our quirks.

I'll read practically any YA book, as long as it's interesting. However, I do have a particular liking for contemporary romances, dystopias, and horror novels. If you think I'd be interested in your book, please email me here (hikablack[at]gmail[dot]com).

You can find me posting here every Saturday and whenever I feel like it as well as on Twitter and Goodreads.

If you feel like doing a RAK (random act of kindness), here's my wish list:
