On Soulmates
Shelly Crane

Soul Mates - the person with whom one has a feeling of deep or natural affinity, similarity, love, sex, intimacy, sexuality, spirituality, or compatibility.

Well, soul mates is a pretty big part of my series. Lots of talk goes on about it, the act of imprinting and making the other person your soul mate is the basis for my series. It's the only way that they can date or get married is to find their soul mate. Maggie and Caleb deal with the consequences of the imprint, so to speak. They subconsciously choose their soul mate even before the imprint, so even though Maggie doesn't know Caleb, she saw something in him that was exactly what she wanted for herself, and vice versa. You both must make this subconscious decision in order to imprint.

I guess my Significance series can be classified as 'insta-love' because of this fact. Although, Maggie and Caleb do love each other, Maggie definitely doesn't start spouting her love for him right away. And Caleb gives her time to get used to things. She has so much to learn not only about him, but about being a part of a new race as well. But being Caleb's soul mate, and needing his touch to survive, makes things a little easier for her. He is pretty yummy after all. J

I myself love to read about soul mates and if you do as well, I suggest you pick up my Significance series. And you have a chance to win a copy here!!

  1. Oh, I love this new concept of imprinting, and how Caleb gives her time to adjust! And I like that both have to make a decision to imprint, it's not imposed!

    Sounds great:)

  4. What a great giveaway! Significance sounds so promising - it's much more realistic that the characters have to get used to the idea of bveing soulmates than fall in love right away! Can't wait to read!

    Thanks,
    Leanne

  5. I like the idea of insta-love and soulmates, although with insta-love I see happening to a small percentage of couple. It's interesting to see how a couple falls in love.
