+3 why do I want to read this? Because at Backspace the agents doing my query workshop, both looked at each other and said Divergent was hot. There was also a bit of squealing.

    I think that's reason enough!

  8. Why Divergent? Because it's amazing! I've been a fan of dystopian novels for as long as I can remember & this book is a great addition. Why am I entering this contest if I've already read the book, you may ask? Well, because I was only able to read it by borrowing it & I'd like a copy of my own so I can read it again!

  14. At first this book honestly didn't appeal to me but as I have read review after review it is starting to peak my interest. I also have never read a dystopian novel and I like try to be open minded with genres that are new to me.

  15. I want to read Divergent because I am just getting into postapocolyptic/dytopian books and from what I hear, if you want to read one of the best books out there in this genre, you HAVE to read Divergent! I also haven't read the Hunger Games book yet, so I am WAY behind on the trend!

  16. I would love to read Divergent. I have been following it for a while and most folks seem to have the opinion that it is a great read. I have not read much in the dystopian genre and would like to start with one that it a good read, which this sounds like it is. Thank you for your generous giveaway opportunity today - I would tweet you, but I am such a blogaholic that I have to draw the line somewhere and am refusing to start tweeting LOL

  17. First of all the cover is gorgeous. All of the reviews I've read of this book have all been positive. It appeals to me because its seems similar to The Hunger Games Trilogy, which I fell in love with, so I'm hoping for another winner!

  20. Everybody should read Divergent. Literally. Every single person in the entire world.
I love this book so, so much. It's definitely my favorite book of the year, hands down. There are so many things that are amazing about it. In the efforts of not making this comment too long, I'll try not to make this into a full-lenth review. It's just... Veronica Roth is nothing short of genius. Honestly. The concept alone of society being split into 5 individual factions is incredible and so well-though-out that it makes me think as well. It makes me wonder what faction I'd choose and why, and what factions my family and friends would reside it.
Aside from the world of Divergent, the story is also extremely addictive. Beatrice's voice hooked me in from the very first page, and I enjoyed it immensely throughout the entire book. The supporting characters were amazing as well. Sometimes, I don't really connect with supporting characters in some books if they're not written well. Well, in this book, that problem doesn't exist. Every single character was interesting to me for unique reasons.
In short, I could continue, but it all boils down to the same thing: This book is INCREDIBLE, and I don't know why anyone in their right mind wouldn't agree.

Thank you for the giveaway (: Shockingly enough, I don't have my own copy of this yet... I read someone else's. It is, of course, on my to-buy list as soon as I have the money to spare. But winning it would be great! Thanks for the opportunity!

  21. This book got such great reviews on Amazon--I'm always looking for books for my middle school classroom library for readers of all different types of genres. Neat premise for a book too--interested in the society she's created.

  22. I've hear this is an incredible and CLEAN read, so I can't wait to get my hands on it! I love books that show you can have an awesome story (and even romance!) without being smutty or swearing like crazy. I can't wait! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I want to read Divergent because it seems like EVERYONE else has and they all LOVE it! I cannot wait to read it myself.
Thank you for a fabulous giveaway :)

  24. I'm not overly crazy about dystopian novels but Divergent is simply amazing. I've read it and I can tell you guys that it's the truth.

Divergent describes a Chicago so messed up, so twisted it appears outwardly beautiful but it really is messed up. Can you imagine a society where bravery is symbolised by the act of jumping off trains?

That's exactly how messed up and crazy Chicago-ian society is in Divergent.

I've read Divergent and I would really like to have a copy of Divergent but they're selling the hardcover for 30 USD in the bookstores so that's a bit expensive for me.

Divergent is so beautifully crafted. I keep thinking, whoa, Veronica Roth is so young and she's managed to craft this masterpiece.

  35. I really didn't expect to like Divergent as much as I did. But the writing was excellent, the characters memorable, and it was action packed. The good books are always those that you can remember reading months later and this one definitely fits the bill. I can't wait for the next in the series.

  60. I'd love to win Divergent because dystopian/post-apocalyptic books are my absolute favorites (and have been since before they were so popular!). Whether dystopias are good or bad (and Divergent seems to be in the former category :) ) I want to read them! It's fascinating to see authors' visions of the future.
